SBCMS Alliance

The San Bernardino County Medical Society Alliance (SBCMS-A) marked their 80th anniversary in 2009. Their goal is to improve the quality of life in the community, encourage friendships in our medical family and promote the image of medicine.

Over the years they have sponsored, developed, and participated in many worthwhile community programs and coordinated social activities for physicians and their spouses while supporting the CMA and AMA Alliances.

Lynda Kuehn, Linda Letson, Jeannine Lutz, Judy Misbach, Carole Weinstein, and Susie Seavers.

A portion of the dues collected is used to underwrite some of the community outreach programs of the San Bernardino County Medical Society and its 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporations, Inland Wellness Information Network (IWIN) and the Physicians' Memorial, Gift and Benevolence Fund (PMGBF). They continue to support the Healthy Lifestyles Award Program, which teaches elementary students about healthy eating and exercise habits.

The SBCMS-A representatives (Ellie Dainko, Nancy Horstmann, Linda Letson, Jeannine Lutz, Pat Reisch, and Lorene Sponsler) oversee the revenue and supported projects. One representative sits on the CMA Alliance Board. Members are selected at their annual June meeting, serve a one-year term of office and are the governing body with oversight by the CMA Alliance.

The SBCMS-A participated at the CMA Alliance Fall Leadership Conference, held during the October 2009 CMA House of Delegates Annual Session. Topics included "Terrorism Awareness for the Medical Community", "Leadership Success Factor", and "Staying Connected - Technology Tools for Today's Volunteers".

Alliance representatives, with assistance from the SBCMS staff, maintain support of physicians, the health care community and the citizens of San Bernardino County.
