Palmetto GBA is the new A/B Medicare Administrative Contractor for Jurisdiction 1, which includes California, Hawaii, Nevada, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
Palmetto has posted a welcome statement to providers as well as giving some brief information on what is coming. They have also established en email listserv for the transition. Please refer to the link below. We encourage you to sign up to stay posted on what to expect in the coming months.

Updated news from NHIC Corporation: Current Claim Compliance Statistics for the use of NPI. The deadline of March 1 to use NPI in the billing and rendering fields is fast approaching, and there are a significant number of providers who still do not provide their NPI. These claims will begin rejecting on March 1.
