was recently notified that Joseph A. Corig, M.D., retired family
practitioner, passed away on August 31, 2004 of a heart attack while
lecturing to students at Victor Valley College. He was a member
of the Medical Society for 16 years.
Dr.
Corig was born in Rochester, New York and served in the U.S. Army
during the time of the Cuban crisis of 1962. He earned his medical
degree from Howard University, Washington D.C. in 1965 and took
his internship at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center 1965-1966,
followed by a Postgraduate Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente 1966-1971.
He practiced in New York and Santa Ana, California. Dr. Corig opened
his practice in Apple Valley to be close to his mother. He retired
in 1998. Dr. Corig was also a member of the CMA and AMA.
Survivors
include his wife, Lucia; two daughters and a son; three brothers,
a sister, and four grandchildren. |
