Peggy J. Fritzsche, M.D. Named Chair of the Board of the Radiological Society of North America
Former SBCMS President Peggy J. Fritzsche, M.D. was named chairman of the Board of Directors of the Radiological Society of North America for 2001. The announcement was made at the RSNA’s 86th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting in Chicago.
A member of the RSNA Board of Directors since 1995, Dr. Fritzsche is medical director of Riverside MRI Center and clinical professor of radiology at Loma Linda University School of Medicine (LLUSM). She earned her medical degree at LLUSM and has been on the radiology faculty at the Loma Linda University Medical Center for the past 29 years.
Dr. Fritzsche joined the RSNA Board in 1995, after previously serving on numerous RSNA committees including the Public Information Advisory Board, the Education Council, the Audio-Visual Committee, FutuRad and the Roentgen Centennial Ad Hoc Committee.
Throughout her career, Dr. Fritzsche has been a strong supporter and an active participant in organized medicine at the local, state and national levels. She has served as president of the Medical Staff at LLUMC and as an officer and president of the San Bernardino County Medical Society. She recently completed her position on the Governing Board, Woman Physician Congress of the American Medical Association. Dr. Fritzsche currently serves as a delegate of the California Medical Association and is on the board of trustees of the CALPAC arm of the CMA. She continues to be active in the AMA, both as an alternate delegate and as an officer of the Radiology Section Council in the AMA. Her roles in other professional societies include President, American Association for Women Radiologists, and on several committees and as an alternate councilor of the American College of Radiology (ACR). She became a fellow of the ACR in 1986.
Dr. Fritzsche has held posts with several peer-reviewed journals, including Radiographics, The American Journal of Roentgenology and the Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography. Currently, she is a scientific referee for Academic Radiology and the RSNA journal Radiology.
