SURVIVOR

The M.B.A Program for Executives at California State University San Bernardino.

By Edward A. Hess, M.D.

A great sigh of relief echoed in the halls of the San Bernardino County Medical Society in Colton this past July 20th. Our group of ten Physicians, five Bankers, and one Registered Physical Therapist finished the final classroom course for our M.B.A. degree. We had been isolated from our family and friends in much the same way as if we were in the Australian Outback or on a desert island for one and a half years.

However, the prize for winning was even greater than the money won by the contestants on the television series. We, too, fought many hard battles in order to claim our prize of knowledge and skills. The benefits of this program have already become evident to every single one of us. Our classmates have applied their knowledge to their work environment. Many of us have taken on new responsibilities and exciting new positions. Others have begun new business ventures that promise to open many doors toward future success. All in all, we possess the tools that will allow us to progress forward. We are much wiser and more adept in the ways of the business jungle. We are the true survivors.
