Closing Your Practice? CMA Pamphlet Answers Your Questions
CMA's newest legal publication, "Closing a Medical Practice," assists physicians who are retiring or otherwise leaving their practices and deceased physicians' families or estate executors. Among the questions addressed are: which people and agencies to notify when a physician's practice closes, how long to retain medical records, and what must be
considered when selling a practice. The CMA attorney/authors also discuss various death-related issues, such as additional people to contact and documents of the deceased that those administering the estate will want to review.

The 27-page pamphlet contains helpful sample letters and forms to streamline the correspondence chores involved in closing a medical practice.

The price for SBCMS/CMA members and their families is $25 ($75 for nonmembers). To purchase a copy, please visit CMA's online bookstore at www.cmanet.org, or call the CMA publications line at 800/882-01262.
