Annual Outstanding Physician and Citizen Awards

The Medical Society is soliciting nominations for the 2002 Outstanding Physician and Outstanding Citizen awards. SBCMS members are invited to participate by nominating a fellow member or citizen you feel qualifies for one of the awards.

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS IS APRIL 15, 2002

Winners will be selected at the April 29, 2002 meeting of the Medical Society's Executive Committee and the awards will be presented at the June Installation of Officers Meeting. Every award is not necessarily bestowed each year, and regardless of the qualifications of the individual, under no circumstances will the same award be given to the same individual in any subsequent year.

Attached is a "Nomination Form". Only those entries submitted on the form will be accepted. Please duplicate the form for multiple nominations. Send your nomina-tion(s) to the San Bernardino County Medical Society, 952 S. Mt. Vernon Ave. Suite C, Colton, CA 92324 or fax to (909) 824-8902.

Nicholas P. Krikes, M.D. Award for
Outstanding Contribution to the Medical Society

This award is given for sustained interest and participation in one or more activities of the Society over and above that expected by the membership at large.


William L. Cover, M.D. Award for Outstanding Contribution to Medicine

This award is bestowed upon a physician member who has displayed forward-looking, pioneering ideas, enterprise, enthusiasm and prolonged professional stature and abilities.


Outstanding Contribution to the Community

This award is given to the outstanding member who has displayed sustained interest and participation in one or more community activities over and above that expected of the membership at large.

Outstanding Citizen Award

This award is presented to a lay person who has:

· exhibited sustained interest and participation in one or more medically related activities which has benefited the members of the community, and/or
· who has demonstrated outstanding devotion to community work, and/or
· who has devoted a career of service to the Inland Empire.
