    CDC recommends booster dose for health care workers who received Pfizer vaccine

    Today, CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky, M.D., M.P.H., endorsed the CDC ACIP recommendation for a booster shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in certain populations and also recommended a booster dose for those in high risk occupational and institutional settings, including health care.

    Eligible small businesses and nonprofits affected by the COVID-19 pandemic — including physician practices — can now apply for the final round of California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program. The program is administered by California’s Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA).

CMA PPE Relief

Due to the PPE Relief Program's overwhelming success, CMA is extending support to practices and physicians with direct shipment of PPE supplies. As supplies become available, CMA will contact past program participants. If you have questions or would like to register your practice, please email memberservice@cmadocs.org.

The State of California made millions of medical-grade PPE pieces – including N95 masks, surgical masks, shields, gowns, and gloves – available FREE to physician practices. The California Office of Emergency Services partnered with CMA to distribute this equipment to qualifying small and medium-sized medical practices at live events in July and August. CMA is now distributing PPE Relief kits via direct shipment to practices that did not register for the first round of distribution. PPE Relief kits include up to a two-month supply (exact amount may vary by practice size, specialty and location). Questions?  See the FAQ.
